Overall, a great space near CWE to get sandwiches and burgers with friends. Good cocktails too! WAIT TIME: We had a dinner reservation for a larger party for 7:30 on a Saturday and we were seated immediately. FOOD: I ordered the classic burger and the guava lamp drink. The burger was very tasty and the fries are delicious! Would recommend. I heard from others in my party that the chicken sandwich was very tasty as well. The guava lamp drink was quite interesting looking, and it had decent taste. It was somewhat unique so only get if you're ready to try some new flavor combos. It was very strong too. SERVICE: QR code menu was easy to access, and our server was attentive, often asking if we needed drink refills. AMBIANCE: The decor and layout works well, it's a more modern look with lots of pretty lights and a bar. A great spot to come with a group of friends! PRICE: Dishes were roughly between $15-25, and drinks around $15. Pretty comparable prices to similar restaurants.

This is a popular location. Despite being packed we got seated within 5 minutes (3 ppl). We ordered the risotto balls. They were good. I could not taste any bacon or meat at all. Nor could my wife. The roasted tomatoe sauce was thick enough to cover the balls and add flavor. I preferred to eat the risotto balls plain. I ordered the pork and a salad. The others ordered the poutine, and portabella sandwich with the salad. Everyone liked their meal. The pork was cooked perfect. A little char and good seasoning. It sat on rissotto. The tomatoe relish was just cold cherry tomatoes. At first, the cold of the tomatoes with the hot pork and risotto was conflicting. But, I got the contrast in flavors and temperature. I would go back here if I ever came back to the area. The salads were great. I don't like salads, but I enjoyed this salad. Probably because it had numerous textures and flavors.

Sadly I have no photos but Retreat was so yummy! Since I went with a group I got to try several items. I don't do alcohol so the non alcoholic Cold Fashionee was a fun option. It had cold brew coffee, simple, bitters & orange twists. It was so good. We tried the buffalo cauliflower, the fried Brussels sprouts, the feta mouse, tomato bruschetta & the smoked salmon dip. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The buffalo cauliflower was good and had a real kick to it! I was not a huge fan of the smoked salmon dip, but to be fair I don't like a smoky flavor much. The feta mouse was my absolute favorite! Everyone thought it was delicious. We had great and attentive servers. I'll try Retreat again for sure. Great for a happy hour.

We have always had the best experiences!! Our Friday night here was no different! The staff was so welcoming!! The food and drinks are always delicious and consistent!! The freaking mac n cheese, holy crap!! Everyone at the table was raving!! I was disappointed to learn the portobello sandwich was sold out for the night, but then we wouldn't have tried the flavorful Car "Nay" Asada tacos!! And you can't forget to get the Parmesan fries and kale salad! And the water is always refreshed!! Thanks for caring about the details!! Retreat is a St Louis fave!!
